Dear God, Indy’s still got it!

With Stallone crawling back into the jungle and Harrison Ford donning the fedora once again, Hollywood has been busy proving age is nothing but a number.

The new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trailer [phew, take a breath] is online and looking pretty impressive. People often groan whenever older franchises are revived , but lately the movie studios have been doing things right. Films like Transformers, Rambo, Rocky Balboa and Batman Begins all prove that if someone with a respect for the original material is in charge, good things can happen.

A possible peek at future Rock Band DLC?

ScoreHero user Laconic has cracked a .bin file from Rock Band’s “Punk 02″ song pack, and hidden inside was a possible preview of some juicy upcoming DLC content. Over 30 song titles were tucked away in the file and although the artist of each song wasn’t listed, it’s fairly easy to draw conclusions on who each song belongs to. None of the songs have been confirmed yet, but keep in mind Harmonix did promise the release of Nirvana’s Nevermind album as well as 18 Grateful Dead tracks at some point.

It’s amazing that Harmonix has been able to maintain such a steady flow of DLC for Rock Band, especially considering how miserably Guitar Hero III has failed in this department. I’d be concerned about what they’re going to do for an encore, but with word from Harmonix that gamers will be able to use their downloaded tracks in any future installments, Rock Band‘s future looks bright.

Hopefully this odyssey won’t get lost in the shuffle

Lost Odyssey

I’m not too sure where this game came from, but thanks to a bitchin’ commercial, it definitely has my attention. Lost Odyssey tells the tale of Kaim, a warrior who has lived for 1,000 years. Throughout the course of the game, you’ll experience the conflicts, loves and losses which he has encountered over this time period.

Much like Mistwalker’s previous title Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey has been well received in Japan and is helping to boost sales of Microsoft’s console across the pacific. Famitsu, one of Japan’s highest regarded magazines, has scored the title an impressive 36 out of 40.
