Harmonix hip to the iPhone Scene?
During an interview with Arstechnica.com, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos hinted that the Rock Band and Phase developers next big project might be something for Apple’s iPhone. Rigopulos didn’t come right out and state that something was in developement from his team, but the enthusiasm he displayed is enough to get any touch gamer excited at the possibilities.
“We could just do a port of Phase, but I’m wondering if there isn’t something that’s more ambitious that we could do as well. I don’t think we have any specific plans there yet, but needless to say, we’re looking at it,” commented Rigopulos.
Even though the App Store is already home to the awesome Tap Tap Revenge series, I would still love to see what the crew at Harmonix could bring to the table. Harmonix’s last title for the iPod platform was Phase back in 2007, which featured gameplay similar to the Rock Band and Guitar Hero series. The game was well-received thanks to it’s unique art style and ability to use tracks imported from your iPod during gameplay.
