In other absurd UFC news, Rampage is pulling out of his grudge match against Rashad Evans at UFC 107 to fill the Baracus role in the upcoming A-Team remake. Jackson will star alongside Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson, filling the role made famous by Mr. T. Filling the now vacant main event slot is the lightweight title match-up between BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez.

I may go to sleep with my iPod touch every night [literally], but I’ve got to admit this thing looks pretty sweet. If I can get my gamertag on that thing and earn some achievements through some quality bite-sized games, I may have to swap my touch for one. I don’t need a flood of games like the AppStore to keep me happy, just a handful of ones that are actually playable beyond five minutes. All Microsoft needs to do is make sure Chillingo and ngmoco:) are on board and they should be alright. Ngmoco:) is already implementing an XBL-like experience into their games with the Plus+ network, so they shouldn’t be hard to swoon.

I finally gave in while browsing the Avatar Marketplace today and picked up a pair of items to pimp my little 360 clone. Although the Star Wars lightsaber looked badass and was mighty tempting, five bucks is a little much for a virtual toy that you can’t even play with so I had to decline. I settled for a pair of Halo 3 cargos and a soccer ball to go along with my Portugal MNT jersey [which I'm still glad was free, thanks Microsoft!]. I feel like a tool for buying virtual clothing for a little version of myself but on the bright side, at least I still have enough MS Points left for a couple of Rock Band tracks. I’m looking forward to a killer app where I can actually use for Avatar though, everything aside from Joy Ride looks pretty lame to be honest. How about a Mario-style epic platformer where your little dude is the star of the show?

Seeing as how these are easily the most popular posts on my blog, I decided to do another run of NXE sized wallpapers for everyone to splash across their Xbox 360 dashboards. This round you’ll find a bunch based on this summer’s biggest blockbusters as well as a few from the dark days of Batman on film. I’ve included instructions past the break on how to install these as your Xbox 360’s background. As always, leave some comments if you’d like to see some specific themes in the future!

To apply these as your Xbox 360’s dashboard theme follow these easy steps:

1. Download your choice of theme from MarkEightThree.com and save it to either a CD/DVD or USB ThumbDrive.
2. Place the disk or USB into your Xbox 360 and go to My Pictures under the My Xbox section of the NXE.
3. Navigate to the picture you would like to use and press the ‘Y’ button to apply that image as your new background.

Fans of the oh-so terrible Enviro-Bear 2010 might want to start brushing up on their MiniGore shooting skills. The badly drawn bear will be one of two iPhone gaming stars crossing titles to join John Gore’s hunting party. Lizzie, one of the stars of Secret Exit’s Sway, will also be added to the survival shooter’s roster within the next few updates. This mash-up of original iPhone stars seems to be the latest trend on the iPhone AppStore, with every indie developer loaning out their creations to boost colleagues and their own sales.

The iPhone crossover trend started when Ooga of Pocket God fame was added to Doodle Jump as a hidden playable character. PG devs Bolt Creative returned the favor in late July when it added a DJ style mini-game in Episode 23: Ooga Jump. The little green star of DJ even showed up to stir some trouble for the pygmies. Somewhere in between jumping through the skies of DJ and being tortured on their own island, the characters of PG even managed to show up in Super Squawk’s awesome The Creeps! as tower defence enemies. PG’s last episode, Bait Master, pays homage to Harbor Master, another iPhone best seller. It may be starting to get a bit confusing, but AppStore purchase  numbers have shown that having these little cameos and easter eggs are actually benefitting sales for everyone.

Most of these cameos are fun to see but the fact still remains that if a game sucks, throwing in a character from a better game isn’t going to fix it. Thankfully, most of the aforementioned titles already rock. Except Enviro-Bear 2010, there’s no fixing that one. I’m holding out for the day that all of these characters come together for the megaton Super iPhone Brothers Brawl. It’s still a ways off, but I’m going to go ahead and put a twenty down on one of the Rolandos in that one.

Konami has announced that from August 13 through 15 the price of MGS: Touch is being dropped to $5.99, a five dollar savings from it’s normal high-budget price. I’ve spent some time playing the game and while it’s an absolute clunker at $7.99, it’s not too bad of a pill to swallow at it’s new sale price.

IGN gave the title a 6.0 when it was first released. Here’s an excerpt of their review:

Metal Gear Solid Touch will be a real disappointment for both hardcore and casual fans. Despite the appearance of characters, settings, and weapons from the Metal Gear universe, this is not a Metal Gear game. It’s a simple shooting gallery. But at least it’s a good-looking simple shooting gallery with awesome music. Perhaps the later stages might get a little more Metal Gear-y, but right now, it’s hard to recommend this lackluster shooter.

Earlier today EA Sports released the cover for the North American version of FIFA10, with Cuauhtémoc Blanco of Chicago Fire and Sacha Kljestan of Chivas USA representing Major League Soccer. Nowhere near as cool as having Toronto FC’s Maurice Edu on the cover, but I’d still rather have a couple of MLS stars on the cover than a couple of chaps from the English Premiership.

Taking the front and center role is Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard, who takes over the long-held spot from Ronaldinho. That automatically drops the big teeth meter from way too much to just enough. Lampard is also on the UK edition’s cover, but across the pond he plays second fiddle to Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.

The soundtrack for the game has also been released and can be found after the break. Not found however, is Team Canada in the actual game itself. What the hell EA, what the hell.
