After bumbling through nightmares in The Creeps and bounding the skies in Doodle Jump, the Pygmies of Pocket God are now battling in the trenches of World War I. The latest Trenches update from Thunder Gameworks takes a page out of the Call of Duty playbook and introduces hordes of zombies for allied soldiers to battle. At $0.99, Trenches is a no-brainer for anyone looking for a fun twist on the tired tower defense genre.

Pocket God invades your Trenches

Posted in Uncategorized with tags Assassin's Creed, Games, iPhone, iPod touch on March 1, 2010 by MarkEightThreeThe recently revealed iPhone/touch exclusive Assassin’s Creed II: Multiplayer has been launched onto the iTunes AppStore for the surprisingly low price of free. It’s not a permanent bargain however, as the game’s price will be hiked up to $2.99 on Wednesday. I was a big fan of Ezio’s adventures on the Xbox 360 and I’ve yet to take the swan dive into the iPhone/touch version because of budget reasons, but I’ve got no excuse to miss out on this one. Enviro-Bear & Sway’s Lizzie coming to Minigore
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Doodle Jump, Enviro-Bear 2010, Games, Harbor Master, iPhone, iPod touch, MiniGore, Pocket God, Sway, The Creeps! on August 11, 2009 by MarkEightThreeFans of the oh-so terrible Enviro-Bear 2010 might want to start brushing up on their MiniGore shooting skills. The badly drawn bear will be one of two iPhone gaming stars crossing titles to join John Gore’s hunting party. Lizzie, one of the stars of Secret Exit’s Sway, will also be added to the survival shooter’s roster within the next few updates. This mash-up of original iPhone stars seems to be the latest trend on the iPhone AppStore, with every indie developer loaning out their creations to boost colleagues and their own sales. Read more »
MyBrute smashes into the AppStore for $4.99
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Games, iPhone, iPod touch, MyBrute on June 6, 2009 by MarkEightThreeI love the online game because it’s something I can get into without having it take up a lot of time, but the price of the iPhone version is way too steep for me to take the plunge. I was excited about getting BulkyPix’s MyBrute on my touch but I was expecting the price to be more in line with the $0.99-2.99 price range. There’s a lot of quality games in the AppStore to be had for MyBrute’s price, most of which offer much more bang for your buck. MyBrute is a great little MMO for beginners, but you’re better off sticking with the more limited [albeit free] online version until the price drops.
iPhone’s Siberian Strike on sale now for a buck

And it’s awesome. If you’re a fan of overhead warplane shooters like 1942 or Raptor: COS, then you should have picked up this game already. With FMV sequences, 3D graphics, full voice-overs and multiplayer, this iPhone/touch arcade title is a huge steal at 99 cents, especially since it debuted at $5.99 only a few weeks ago. There’s no expiry date for the sale on the game’s iTunes page, but it is a limited offer so you should hop to it fairly quick.
Resident Evil now infecting iPhones
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Games, iPhone, iPod touch, Resident Evil on May 11, 2009 by MarkEightThree
Capcom has released Resident Evil Degeneration to the iTunes AppStore for the non-horrific price of $6.99. After a quick 20 minute play through of the games first chapter I can happily report that the Resident Evil franchise actually works on Apple’s platform. This third-person shooter based on the CG flick of the same name takes most of it’s cues from Resident Evil 4, which isn’t a bad idea considering how many accolades that title recieved. Here’s hoping a few more titles from the series take up residency. Sorry, I just had to! More pictures posted after the break.
MyBrute bringing portable beatdowns to the iPhone
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Games, iPhone, iPod touch, MyBrute on May 9, 2009 by MarkEightThreeAccording to iPhone gaming site iPhoneOtaku.com, the team at Bulkypix might be porting over their super-addictive online RPG MyBrute. It was only recently that I stepped into the arena but I think I might have already been bitten by the MyBrute bug. If the iPhone/touch version is able to recreate this experience on the go I’ll be grabbing this on launch day. In the meantime, show me what you got!
Anybody order a side of iPhone wallpapers?

Designed a few more iPhone/iPod touch wallpapers for myself and decided I might as well share them as well. Only a few this time since I used whatever images I found for the NXE themes and formatted them for the iPhone. As always, if anybody out there is reading this and has a request [yeah right!] let me know in the comments, or just let me know if you like the selection so far. Read more »
Pocket Gamer spills some details on Dexter
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Dexter, Games, iPhone, iPod touch on March 3, 2009 by MarkEightThreeMarc Ecko’s Dexter iPhone game was announced a while back last year, but aside from a few screen shots fans of the Dark Defender have been left salivating for any droplets of info. Although they were accompanied with some bad news [the game has been pushed back until the summer!], these screenshots should give iPhone gamers some hope this won’t be another AppStore shovelware title. Head over to Pocket Gamer for more slightly unsettling screens of Dexter.
